You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailIowa State University is currently seeking applicants for multiple parttime teaching positions with the TRIO Upward Bound summer program. Upward Bound is a federally funded grant program for firstgeneration and/or lowincome students in grades 912. Upward Bound is designed to prepare high school students for postsecondary education by providing academic cultural and social programs that develop the skills attitudes and motivation necessary for higher education. We are hiring 1 math instructor 1 physics instructor and 2 literature & composition instructors.
The Upward Bound summer program will be held inperson on the Iowa State campus June 9July 3. Teachers are responsible for developing and leading engaging courses in the content areas of intermediate math (algebra geometry precalculus) chemistry physics and literature and composition. Courses are noncredit bearing and they are designed to supplement high school course material and prepare students for their next academic year. Classes are held MondayFriday throughout the month of June. The time commitment is approximately 1215 hours of instruction and 5 hours of prep and administrative responsibilities each week.
Successful candidates must have teaching experience and vast knowledge of the content area for which they apply. A teaching license is preferred but not required. Candidates must be able to communicate effectively and provide weekly progress updates to high school students and program staff.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship.
