What You Will Do

  • Monitor functionality and performance of equipment. Including vacuum pumps high temperature furnaces gas scrubbers instrumentation chemical feed systems.

  • Apply principles of physics mathematics and material science to design and evaluate subsystem prototypes when equipment/system deficiencies are identified.

  • Initiate and manage all phases of projects from design to installation and verification

  • Develop predictive maintenance program and critical spares inventory to minimize unplanned down time of equipment

  • Work closely with manufacturing and engineering integrated teams to develop new processes and implement new designs into production to enhance material performance eliminate quality turn backs escapes and reduce overall product costs

  • Provide focused & effective leadership in eliminating EH&S/Ergonomics/Human Factors risks and addressing quality issues as processes transitions into production.

  • Create and implement strategies for automation to improve quality and minimize process cost

  • Conduct root cause investigations as required and implement corrective actions

  • Support a 24/7 operation as required

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering or Material Science and 5 years of relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and 3 years of relevant experience

  • U.S Citizen is required as only U.S citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience developing new processes and successful transition to production.

  • Extensive experience in installing and operating electromechanical production equipment

  • A working knowledge of quality and process improvement tools such as Six Sigma and LEAN

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings

  • Ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships and exercise influence to lead small teams to deliver outstanding results and overcome challenges

  • Knowledge and effective practice of Environmental Health and Safety requirements to effectively practice of aerospace quality practices like ISO9001 AS9100

What Is My Role Type: In addition to transforming the future of flight we are also transforming how and where we work. Weve introduced role types to help you understand how you will operate in our blended work environment This role is:

  • Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles commuting to and from the assigned site is the employees personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 90000 USD 182000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
