Job Description

FORT VALLEY STATE UNIVERSITY (FVSU) a state and landgrant institution of the University System of Georgia invites applications for the position of Adjunct Instructor Biology.

Fort Valley State University the only 1890 landgrant university in Georgia is a comprehensive institution that provides an education to over 2800 students including graduate students. The university is located in the town of Fort Valley in Peach County the original site of the states peach industry. Its 1365acre 5.52 km2 campus is Georgias secondlargest public university in area.

JOB SUMMARY:

This announcement is to assist in the building a pool of candidates for upcoming adjunct (parttime) opportunities within the Biology Program in the Department of Natural and Computational Sciences. Currently we are recruiting for adjunct faculty to teach courses in Biology (for nonMajors and Majors) Anatomy and Physiology and any additional courses as needed by the Program. Courses will be offered in inperson hybrid and/or online modalities.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teach undergraduate level Biology and related courses in a facetoface online or hybrid format.
  • Teach courses as assigned by the Department Chair and maintain University policies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Masters Degree in Biology or related discipline.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check.
  • Excellent analytical oral and written communication skills and teamwork.
  • 23 years of experience at the university level.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior experience in teaching Biology for nonMajors Biology I and/or II (for Majors) Human Anatomy and Physiology I and/or II and their associated labs.
