Description

Exciting opportunity for candidates to receive employer sponsored training as an Emergency Medical Responder. In addition to securing a supplemental Patient Care Assistant position in the Emergency Department candidates will be provided with the opportunity to complete an Emergency Medical Responder course through Chippewa Valley Technical College. Positions intended for undergraduate students pursuing nursing or prehealth degrees.

Applicants must be available for CVTCs EMT1 course in June 2025. Once completed with EMT1 course applicants will be eligible to sit for the Emergency Medical Responder certification exam. Orientation within the Emergency Department following the completion of the EMT1 course will be at a fulltime status once orientation is complete employees will assume a supplemental status.

The Patient Care Assistant assists staff with delegated tasks of direct and indirect patient care which supports and complements nursing practice under the supervision of a registered nurse. The Patient Care Assistant carries out delegated skills that are within those functions limited by law to unlicensed nursing personnel.



Qualifications

Must be 18 years of age prior to start date.

Completion of 12 college credits OR High school diploma/ GED with successful completion of a Nursing Assistant training or equivalent preferred. Able to adapt to unpredictable situations within the patient care setting. Maintains current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers from one of the following programs; American Heart Association or American Red Cross. If a candidate does not currently have their Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers from one of the following programs: American Heart Association or American Red Cross the Basic Life Support certification will be included as part of the orientation program.
