So whats the role

Our IT department is essential in supporting all aspects of our operations here at Kin Insurance; we are looking for an IT Intern to join our growing team! You will be pivotal in assisting the IT Department in the Chicago office and lending an essential hand to onboarding and offboarding responsibilities. Furthermore you can contribute to companywide projects and initiatives that help our teams work more efficiently.

Working crossfunctionally is crucial within this role requiring you to lean into your communication strengths and collaborate closely with team members managers and stakeholders. In a growing fastpaced startup environment youll work alongside technical and nontechnical teams on various projects all while learning and growing for your future career.

A day in the life could include:

• Imaging and deploying computers for our local and remote workforce

• Logistics and planning for onboards/offboards

• Inventory management

• Providing audio/visual assistance for meetings and events in person

• Performing regular audits of inventory to ensure all devices are correctly assigned and accounted for

• Managing inventory each week alongside documenting physical IT Assets (laptops monitors)

• Overseeing all mobile devices used throughout the organization JumpCloud

• Responsible for ensuring the seamless onboarding and offboarding of employees as it relates to IT equipment

• Ensuring frontline assistance to Kinfosec by triaging cyber security issues and enforcing security policies throughout the organization

• Maintaining the security posture in our office locations (cameras keycard readers)

• Owning tier 1 helpdesk requests

Ive got the skills but do I have the necessary ones

• A student enrolled in a CIS or related program

• White glove service ability to work with anyone from interns to executives and treat all with the same level of respect and empathy

• Ability to identify issues and communicate solutions effectively

• Expertise in collaborating effectively working for a winwin while inspiring others to do the same

• Desire to advance your career and gain exposure to new projects in a techbased environment

• Enthusiasm for utilizing technologies in addition to learning new systems and tools

• Ability to provide inoffice support for our Chicago office a maximum of 30 hours per week

This position is part time with the expectation of 20 hours per week and not eligible for employee benefits.
