Our CPG Risk Management department is looking for a Senior Manager to join the team and drive risk maturity. Leveraging on industry best practises this role will be responsible for managing the risk management capability for the CPG Program concentrating on risk management planning risk identification qualitative and quantitative (cost and schedule) risk analysis risk response planning and risk monitoring control and response. In this role you will also coordinate with other program or project controls and project management of the program while implementing risk management policies and procedures for consistent use by Metrolinx.
What will I be doing
- Implement and validate that project teams comply with the CPG risk management framework and procedures for recording investigating monitoring and reporting of risk across projects and programs. while continually seeking to grow and optimize the framework through continuous improvement.
- Provide expert technical advisory guidance on complex risk matters to support project delivery teams on risk identification assessment and mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle.
- Build internal project and program risk management competence throughthe facilitation of risk training sessions and workshops to enhance the risk management capabilities of staff at all levels.
- Provide timely information to the program and CPG senior leadership about the status of the risk management and any risk /issues /gaps along with recommendations to mitigate.
- Build and manage relationships with a wide number of internal and external stakeholders including partners government agencies and/or communities leveraging those relationships to advance division or project objectives.
- Provide subject matter expertise to drive continuous improvement and consistency by identifying opportunities for innovation and sharing with senior leadership and project teams.
- Provide leadership and directly manage required team of resources for purposes of risk management and optimization with level of leadership and daily task delegation up to and including performance management.
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need
- Bachelors Degree in a related field (e.g. Engineering Business Administration etc. or equivalent qualification or a combination of education training and experience deemed equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience in the field of Risk Management.
- Indepth knowledge of risk management frameworks and best practices.
- Experience building and running detailed quantitative cost and schedule risk models and the interpretation of analysis result.
- Comprehensive understanding of broader project controls theory principles and practice.
- High performing professional using industry standard software packages and applications: Active Risk Manager (ARM) Primavera Risk Analyser (PRA) @Risk Safran.
- Demonstrable highly skilled experience of reasoned decisionmaking in high pressure and paced environments.
- Excellent problem solving and influencing skills to establish effective working relationships; negotiate and deal with a variety of contacts both internal and external to the organization; gain cooperation from individuals not under direct authority and comfort working with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate / interface effectively with senior management (e.g. EVP and CCO) and external stakeholders (e.g. Government representatives).
- Ability to engage and influence a wide variety of project resources including but not limited to Engineers Project Controls Professionals Project Managers Delivery Partners and External Partners.
- Excellent leadership skills to motivate a team set high standards and clear expectations manage expectations and outputs.
- Excellent writing skills with demonstrated experience authoring technical risk management documentation processes procedures plans and policies.
- Excellent communication facilitation and interpersonal skills with demonstrated success working effectively and collaboratively in a large integrated matrix team environment at all levels of an organization.
