IDENTIFYING INFORMATION
Job Title: Occupational Therapist

SUMMARY OF ASSIGNMENT
The practice of Occupational Therapy uses activity and adapted surroundings to facilitate selfcare activities motor performance and sensorymotor skills to facilitate the students independent functioning and to decrease the effects of the handicapping condition on the students ability to participate in the educational process in cooperation with other staff members and parents.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Conduct and interpret informal and formal assessments of appropriate students identified and referred for assessment as having Occupational Therapy needs through the use of the MultiDisciplinary Team (MDT) process.
Plan and implement educationally relevant therapy programs for eligible students.
Participate in the development of the Individualized Education Program (IEP) in conjunction with school personnel and parents.
Administer Occupational Therapy procedures and modalities as related to educational needs identified in the IEP which will achieve the goals of the program established for each student.
Monitor and attend to behavior of students during Occupational Therapy services.
Coordinate Occupational Therapy services with those of other health and educational personnel and provide consultative services.
Participate in varied service delivery models (i.e. individual group consultative) in cooperation with the student other school personnel and the students family.
Evaluates students in terms of planned goals revises intervention strategies as a result of the evaluation and provides students with feedback on their progress.
Organizes and schedules assigned caseload at varied locations.
Request/recommend from the Special Education Department the basic Occupational Therapy equipment and supplies needed.
Continue professional educational development and participate in inservice activities for staff and support personnel.
Participate in policy formulation as it relates to Occupational Therapy services.
Maintain records and submit reports as required by law and district process and procedure.
Maintain clean utilize and transport Occupational Therapy equipment used for students therapy.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
Bachelors degree from an accredited 4 year college.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed at a regular elementary or secondary school building; may be various locations on a daily or weekly basis. Exposure to normal amounts of dust and fumes from office machines and cleaning chemicals and occasional loud noises. Ability to use arms hands and fingers; lift and push/pull 40 pounds often; team lift 60 pounds occasionally; listen closely more attentive than normal daily life frequently; and often bend stretch twist walk or reach requiring recurring physical activity requiring more than ordinary strength or effort are all required.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Employment with Clover Park School District is conditional pending completion of a Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation fingerprint background check as required by RCW28A.400.303. (NOTE: All associated background check fees are the employees responsibility. The fingerprint scan must be completed prior to the first day of employment.

Retirement and Deferred Compensation

*Clover Park School District total possible pay consists of base salary plus the following:
Building Centered Responsibility 5 days
District Centered Responsibility 2.5 days
Event Responsibility 1 day
Attendance required for compensation of responsibility pay (buildingcentered districtcentered and event).
