Job Description

Service (Pro) Technician


Position Overview:

The Service Technician is responsible for performing scheduled installations preventive maintenance and service according to company standards. This role involves building customer relationships providing technical support and maintaining a quality maintenance schedule within the assigned territory.


Covered Territory:

The area that this position will service will generally cover the central to eastern half of South Dakota and include Hankinson (ND) and Willar (MN). There could be an occasional overnight stay when working the farther ends of the territory.


Essential Functions:

  1. Installation and Maintenance:
    • Coordinate and perform scheduled installations preventive maintenance and service for beverage and chemical equipment.
    • Ensure compliance with company standards and safety protocols during installations and maintenance tasks.
    • Log all activities related to maintenance for quality assurance purposes.
  2. Customer Relationship Building:
    • Build strong relationships with existing customer accounts to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
    • Address customer inquiries concerns and technical issues promptly and professionally.
    • Identify opportunities for upselling or recommending upgrades to customers (soft sales approach).
  3. Technical Support:
    • Provide additional technical support as needed.
    • Collaborate with the sales team to address customer needs effectively.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Mechanical Skills:
    • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.
    • Ability to diagnose and repair equipment efficiently.
  • Communication Skills:
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to interact with a wide array of personalities including customers and colleagues.
  • SelfMotivation and Time Management:
    • Selfdriven and resultsoriented.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a professional and timely manner.
  • Sales Acumen:
    • Comfortable discussing upgrade opportunities with customers (soft sales approach).

Education and Experience:

  • High school education or GED is required.
  • Valid drivers license with a safe driving history.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods during travel to work locations.
  • Capable of lifting up to 80 pounds during maintenance or installations.
  • Regularly perform physical activities such as standing walking bending squatting stooping and kneeling.
