What its like to be a Steel Detailer

As a Steel Detailer at MetCon Inc. you will be responsible for creating detailed drawings and models of steel structures ensuring accurate measurements and collaborating with architects and engineers to bring designs to life. Your keen eye for detail and ability to think critically will be put to the test as you analyze and interpret complex blueprints. In this role you can anticipate working in a fastpaced environment where deadlines and project timelines are crucial. You will have the opportunity to showcase your problemsolving skills as you troubleshoot design issues and provide innovative solutions.

Your work will directly contribute to the success of our construction projects making you an integral part of our team. The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with occasional afterhours work as needed to meet project deadlines. To excel in the role of a Steel Detailer at MetCon Inc. you must possess a unique set of skills and expertise. A strong understanding of steel construction principles and practices is essential as well as proficiency in utilizing various software and tools. As a Steel Detailer you can expect to work with software such as AutoCAD Revit and primarily Tekla Structures to create accurate and detailed drawings. Familiarity with these programs will allow you to efficiently generate 2D and 3D models facilitating effective collaboration with architects engineers and our construction team. Additionally a keen eye for detail and the ability to accurately interpret complex blueprints are crucial skills for this role.

Strong communication skills are also vital as you will collaborate with various stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
