Job Description

Columbus Technical College is looking for a fulltime program director for our Culinary Arts Degree Program. This individual will be responsible for providing instructiontostudents demonstrating the use of appropriate teaching techniques and having the abilitytoorder products and maintain appropriate inventory. This position will also require the effective use of oral and written communication skills knowledge of current safety/culinary procedures in the field and the use of appropriate testing and grading procedures. Completion of all reports records and invoices in a timely manner and maintaining an accurate inventory of all assigned properties is required. This position will require day and evening course availability. This is a Fulltime/Exempt position.

Please note the following information regarding this position:

  1. May require teaching on or off campus throughout our service delivery area (Muscogee County Stewart County Quitman County Chattahoochee County Harris County and Talbot County)
  2. May require travel
  3. Will require teaching morning afternoon evening or weekend classes

Responsibilities:

  • Delivers effective individualized program and instructiontostudents
  • Ensures adherencetotechnical college and safety requirements in classrooms and labs by following established procedures
  • Selects and obtains appropriate educational materials for courses
  • Ensures consistency in syllabi lesson plans test and other appropriate course work
  • Monitors use of and maintains supplies equipment and/or facilities for assigned program
  • Assists with recruiting and marketing activities
  • Assists with registration and orientation functions
  • Participates in standing or ad hoc committee meetings relatingtocurriculum development extra curricula activities and other technical college sponsored activities or programs as required
  • Assists with the design and of special events projects and activities as requested
  • Displays a high level of effort and commitmenttoperforming work; operates effectively within the organizational structure; demonstrates trustworthiness and responsible behavior.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in culinary arts or a closely related field from an accreditedpostsecondary institution.
  • Minimum of 3 years work experience in the culinary field within the last 7 years.
  • Current ServSafe Manager Certification

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Culinary Arts
  • Experience teaching inpostsecondary education
  • Experience as a baking/pastry chef

Salary/Benefits:

The salary range is commensurate with education and experience. Benefits include state holidays annual leave and sick leave State of Georgia Retirement Health and Flexible Benefits Program.
