Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking an accomplished and visionary Platform Architect to lead the design and evolution of our cloudnative infrastructure and developer platforms. You will drive strategic architecture decisions spearhead innovation in infrastructure automation and ensure operational excellence across cloud platforms particularly in AWS using Terraform and Python as core tools. This is a highimpact leadership role suited for professionals with deep technical acumen and experience architecting largescale secure and missioncritical platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and oversee the design of secure resilient and scalable cloud infrastructure across global environments using AWS as the primary cloud provider.
- Define and lead the platform vision roadmap and standards partnering with engineering security and compliance teams to align with business goals and regulatory requirements.
- Create reusable infrastructureascode frameworks using Terraform establishing best practices for modularity governance and drift detection.
- Develop enterprisegrade automation orchestration and tooling in Python to support dynamic selfservice platform capabilities and CI/CD workflows.
- Guide engineering teams through modern DevSecOps principles driving securebydesign and zerotrust approaches into every platform component.
- Set architectural standards for containerization service discovery network security and distributed systems management.
- Provide technical leadership during incident response and postmortem analysis driving systemic improvements.
- Mentor senior engineers and foster a highperformance collaborative engineering culture.
Required Skills and Experience
- 10 years in infrastructure cloud or platform engineering roles with 3 years in a senior architect or principal engineer capacity.
- Expertlevel proficiency with AWS core services (e.g. IAM VPC ECS/EKS Lambda S3 CloudTrail CloudWatch).
- Mastery of Terraform for managing complex multiaccount environments and creating reusable module libraries.
- Advanced Python programming experience for systems automation infrastructure tooling and cloud SDK usage.
- Experience designing platforms to meet compliance audit and governance requirements (e.g. SOC 2 PCIDSS GDPR).
- Deep knowledge of CI/CD GitOps container orchestration (Docker Kubernetes) and observability tools.
- Familiarity with modern architecture patterns: microservices service mesh eventdriven design and immutable infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of network security identity and access management (IAM) encryption and threat modeling.
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional or DevOps Engineer Professional.
- Experience working in global enterprise environments or collaborating across multiple lines of business.
- Familiarity with hybrid or multicloud strategy and associated architectural tradeoffs.
- Exposure to Infrastructure Governance tooling (OPA Sentinel etc. and policyascode practices.
Leadership and Soft Skills
- Executive presence with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and advocate for architectural integrity.
- Strategic thinker with a handson mentality and a passion for mentoring and team development.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills including the ability to translate complex technical issues into business terms.
- Demonstrated ability to lead through ambiguity and drive results in fastpaced environments.
