About the Role
Fandango is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to lead the design and development of our nextgeneration content delivery pipeline for external partners including cable operators broadcast affiliates vMVPDs and OEMs. Reporting to the Director of Video Delivery Engineering you will be the technical lead building robust scalable infrastructure to manage the preparation packaging and delivery of content for linear and ondemand distribution.
This role is critical in modernizing how we deliver movie and TV assets from our Fandango at Home platform to a wide ecosystem of partners with particular focus on CableLabs ADI specification compliance metadata integrity delivery tracking and reliability at scale.
What Youll Do
- Build and maintain automated pipelines for packaging and distributing video content to MVPDs linear broadcast partners and digital platforms.
- Ensure full compliance with CableLabs ADI 1.1/1.2 specs including correct asset hierarchy metadata generation and delivery packaging.
- Design systems to handle linear scheduling metadata slate content trick files blackout rules and regionspecific constraints.
- Integrate with thirdparty delivery systems (e.g. Aspera Signiant S3 SFTP) and build monitoring for SLAs throughput and partnerspecific success metrics.
- Automate reconciliation workflows including delivery receipts QC validation (e.g. checksum mediainfo) and error remediation.
- Collaborate with Video Encoding Platform Engineering and Partner Operations to translate partner specs into executable repeatable delivery templates.
- Work with business stakeholders and ops to onboard new partners define spec mappings and ensure timely fulfillment of content delivery obligations.
- Create robust observability dashboards realtime alerting and delivery performance reporting for internal and external visibility.
Qualifications :
What Were Looking For
- 6 years of engineering experience in video delivery broadcast operations or media tech infrastructure.
- Strong working knowledge of CableLabs ADI 1.1/1.2 specification metadata packaging and related partner compliance workflows.
- Experience with filebased delivery workflows for MVPDs vMVPDs or syndication partners.
- Proficiency in Go Python or Java and a track record of building backend systems with high reliability and automation.
- Familiarity with video codecs and containers (e.g. MPEG2 H.264 ProRes MPEGTS) as well as slate trick play and blackout file handling.
- Deep understanding of partner delivery SLAs with a bias toward automation fault tolerance and longterm scalability.
- Strong crossfunctional collaboration skills; able to work closely with technical and nontechnical teams to ensure flawless .
Bonus Points For
- Experience with delivery to platforms like Comcast Spectrum Verizon Cox or Dish.
- Familiarity with EMA specifications Common Metadata and other industrywide content metadata schemas.
- Experience building systems for linear scheduling EPG integration or broadcast tape replacement workflows.
- Background in content protection (DRM watermarking) and entitlementbased delivery systems.
