Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Tank Technician / Mechanic Semi Trailers to join our team. In this role you will be responsible for maintaining inspecting and repairing a variety of tank trailers including ensuring compliance with Department of Transportation regulations. If you have a passion for working with mechanical systems and a strong background in welding and repair this could be the ideal opportunity for you!
Responsibilities:
Inspect and perform maintenance and repairs to meet Department of Transportation regulations.
Perform repairs on Rstamped tanks.
Weld aluminum stainless steel and carbon materials to a high standard.
Inspect and service air brake lines couplers tanks valves shoes drums pads and rotors. Adjust and/or replace components as needed.
Inspect and maintain low voltage wiring couplers harnesses lights batteries and charging systems. Adjust and/or replace components as needed.
Inspect body and chassis rails sidesheets caps doors retainers fasteners floors and plates for damage or defects. Perform metal and wood carpentry tasks to repair/replace along with sheet metal and paint work to finishes.
Inspect operate lubricate and repair lift gates including minor mechanical electrical and hydraulic assemblies.
Requirements:
3 years of tank technician experience.
3 years of welding experience; formal training is a plus.
Must have a personal set of hand tools.
Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
R Stamp tank repair qualifications (preferred).
Knowledge of flatbeds drop decks dry vans 12volt systems air systems and vapor systems.
Any certifications related to tank repair or semitrailer mechanics are a plus.
