Summit Design and Engineering is seeking a fulltime Accounts Payable Specialist who is a selfstarter extremely accurate and has a high degree of analytical skills. The ideal candidate will possess a strong attention to detail and be able to work independently. The position will be based in the Hillsborough or Raleigh office with the option to work from home on occasion. All training will be in the Hillsborough office.
Responsibilities:
- Review and process company credit card statements.
- Efficient and accurate entry into Deltek.
- Maintain AP system records and coordinate new vendor setup.
- Reconcile corporate credit card statements.
- Reconcile vendor statements research and correct discrepancies.
- Process employee expense reports.
- Assist with monthend closing.
- Meet period and yearend deadlines and deliverables and close.
- Review code and process AP invoices.
- Verify the accuracy of invoices and contact managers for approval.
- Audit employee expenses to ensure compliance with company policy prior to payment.
- Communicate with personnel to research discrepancies and provide updates on resolutions.
- Assist with special accounting projects and clerical and other accountingrelated tasks as needed.
- Support everyday accounting functions and consult with other accounting staff or office staff to resolve accounting discrepancies or answer questions.
Skills and Qualifications:
- High School diploma with a minimum of five years of AP experience required or an Associates degree in business or accounting from a twoyear technical college and three years
- Detailoriented with analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure with tight deadlines.
- Ability to problemsolve and analyze accounting reports.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal; ability to communicate effectively.
- Excellent customer service and organizational skills.
- Must be able to deal with difficult sensitive and confidential information.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications including Word Excel Outlook and Adobe.
- Ability to travel between offices as needed
