Job Description
Job Summary:
The Parts Runner is responsible for efficiently delivering parts tools and equipment to project sites.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintains accurate records of parts and supplies.
- Monitors stock levels and reorders materials as needed.
- Coordinates with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely deliveries.
- Delivers parts tools and equipment to construction sites promptly.
- Follows designated routes and schedules to optimize efficiency.
- Verifies the accuracy of delivered items against purchase orders.
- Collaborates with project managers foremen and purchasing departments to understand project requirements.
- Provides regular updates on delivery status and potential delays.
- Inspects delivered items for quality and report any discrepancies.
- Ensures that all materials meet safety standards and regulations.
- Completes and maintains accurate delivery records.
- Keeps detailed logs of mileage fuel consumption and vehicle maintenance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks efficiently.
- Ability to adapt to changes in delivery requirements or unexpected issues.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- One year of prior experience in a similar role especially in the construction or logistics industry is preferred.
- Must have a valid drivers license and a clean driving record.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Excellent depth perception and reaction time.
- Visual acuity to follow hand signals maintain logs and inspect and maintain machinery.
- Must be able to work outside for long periods.
- Must be able to work in allweather types including extreme hot and cold temperatures.
