About Our School

Launched in 2022 the Vancouver Independent School for Science and Technology (VISST) is a notforprofit independent school and Vancouvers first dedicated STEM high school. Students at VISST experience an accelerated and enriched STEM curriculum realworld applications projectbased learning and the opportunity to participate in governance of the school. About the Position

The Learning Support Teacher will be responsible for crafting and operationalizing IEPs at the school. The main responsibilities include:

  • Liaising with parents students and teachers to create IEPs.

  • Advising/supporting teachers on adaptations for students with IEPs.

  • Providing 1:1 support to students both in and outside of the classroom.

  • Some regular classroom teaching.

An ideal candidate possesses training and/or experience working with neurodivergent students as well as strong relationship building interpersonal skills communication skills detailorientedness and resourcefulness.

Timeline

We are hiring a fulltime teacher with an expected start date of August 15 2025 .


Salary Range

Our teacher salaries are roughly in line with the Vancouver School Board. Depending on a teachers experience level and academic qualifications the annual salary ranges from $60000 to $110000.
