Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Job Summary: Repairs and maintains facility machinery and mechanical equipment such as motors pneumatic tools conveyor systems dock locks and production machines and equipment by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
- Assists in dismantling devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
- Assists in inspecting used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
- Assists in repairing or replacing defective parts.
- Assists in adjusting functional parts of devices and control instruments.
- Assists in adjusting functional parts of devices and control instruments.
- Lubricates and cleans parts.
- Responsible for accurate and timely paperwork related to essential duties and responsibilities.
Qualifications:
- HS diploma
- 5 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must possess a valid drivers license
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of the organization.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this Job the employee is regularly required to stand walk and sit; use hands to finger handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop kneel crouch or crawl; talk hear taste and smell. The employee must be able to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds. Do equipment inventory at roof level. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision and ability to adjust focus determine full range of colors in work areas drawings and mapping. Ability to move about commercial properties and construction sites through tight passageways and corridors. On feet throughout startup process
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this Job the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and may work in high precarious places; the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outdoor weather conditions; extreme cold extreme heat risk of electrical shock and vibration. The employee will work in an environment where the following safety equipments are needed; steel toecap shoes hearing protection hardhat eye protection and hair protection. Abide by all safety guidelines including OSHA regulations lockout/tagout etc. Work schedule can be affected by production downtime and many other variables. Candidates should be extremely flexible with noncustomary schedules and weekend work. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
