We seek a professional knowledgeable Carpenter for a regular fulltime position. The essential responsibilities for the Carpenter may include but are not limited to the following:

Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of a carpentry vocational/technical school or a recognized apprenticeship program is preferred.
Experience: Minimum of five 5 years of experience in carpentry or building trades required or any combination of education training and experience that demonstrates the required skills and abilities to competently perform the job. Five 5 years of progressively responsible construction experience is preferred.
License/Certification:Valid unrestricted drivers license. Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC Card) upon hire required. Valid manlift certification and welders certification preferred or willingness and ability to obtain.
Analytical skills: Ability to collect and analyze data apply logical reasoning and develop solutions based on relevant factors.
Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to effectively convey messages across all levels of the organization.
Organizational skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks balance priorities and meet deadlines in a fastpaced environment.
Problem solving skills: Ability to logically assess issues gather information and implement effective solutions.
Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to utilize jobrelated software.
Required Attitudes:
Integrity: Adheres to the Ports mission and values demonstrating honesty discretion and sound judgment.
Flexibility: Willingness to adapt to changing situations and work extended hours when necessary.
Independence: Ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision while maintaining accountability.

Additional Requirements
The Port of Vancouver will require the selected candidate to successfully pass a drug screen background and reference checks prior to the start of employment.
The successful candidate must possess a valid drivers license. Candidate must be able to successfully complete all preemployment screenings. Candidate must also be able to obtain/maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) which is a program managed by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
