Job Description
- Assists in performing and interpreting power calculations power factor insulation tests and positive relay tests as required.
- Maintains troubleshoots and repairs all power generation and distribution equipment.
- Studies and understands electrical schematics.
- Assembles installs tests and maintains electrical or electronic wiring equipment appliances apparatus and fixtures using hand tools and power tools.
- Diagnoses malfunctioning systems and components.
- Connects wires to circuit breakers transformers or other components.
- Inspects electrical systems equipment and components to identify hazards defects and the need for adjustment or repair and to ensure compliance with codes.
- Advises management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
- Tests electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring equipment and fixtures using testing devices such as ohmmeters voltmeters and oscilloscopes to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
- Ensures that work is performed in accordance with relevant codes.Will be required to perform other duties as requested directed or assigned
- Ability to read blueprints and follow a plan layout to install electrical wiring equipment and fixtures based on the job specifications and codes.
- Ability to make sketches or blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes and in accordance with the plan.
- Knowledge of machines and tools including their designs uses repair and maintenance.
- Knowledge of materials methods and the tools involved in construction and repair of buildings and other structures.
- Knowledge of math arithmetic algebra geometry and other applications.
- Knowledge base relevant equipment policies procedures and strategies to promote effective local state or national security operations for the protection of people data and property including public safety.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions and sketches.
- Ability to express ideas effectively orally and in writing.
- Graduation from high school or equivalent.
- Must maintain current Electricians license to meet governmental regulations.
- Progressively more responsible work experience or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
