Summary: Carter Intralogistics is searching for an accomplishedMechanical Engineerwith the experience and knowledge to create material handling and industrial automation products of the future. You will also refine existing designs for optimum efficiency along with product performance while maintaining regulatory compliance. MEs experienced in designing material handling systems in facilities is a plus. Must enjoy being part of a team together working on multiple projects simultaneously from concept through completion.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Play a lead role in engineering projects to develop new or improve products from concept through final product release.
- Knowledge of fabrication processes including sheet metal (cut form weld)
- Experience in manufacturing and assembly of industrial products
- Working knowledge of engineering configuration management
- Substantial Knowledge of 3D CAD Solid Modeling & Engineering Software packages: AutoCAD Inventor MS Office and Autodesk Vault (a plus)
- Ability to create/maintain detailed mechanical drawing packages for fabrication and field installations
- Specify/select mechanical components and equipment for new projects from a variety of fabricators manufacturers and suppliers.
- Ensure proper flow of information between engineering data and ERP system
- Update the team and stakeholders on project status
- Familiar with ANSI ASME standards
- Visit internal manufacturing facilities to follow up on critical build activities.
- Develop test requirements along with assisting in the development of new methods for the improvement of product reliability and procedures
- Go to customer locations to review current state and / or liaise with end users to help develop future anticipated needs
Basic Requirements: - BS Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent.
- 7 years experience in ME design work (Industrial Products and Fabrication)
- 2 years experience in Product development or other transferable skills
- Experience working with Material Handling Equipment or Conveyor Systems
- Capacity to analyze a problem from multiple perspectives and explore creative solutions
- Exceptional technical verbal and written communication skills
- Positive inclusive team player who enjoys using their interpersonal skills
- Travel 10 or less
- High attention to detail
- High degree of integrity and intellectual curiosity
- Strong desire for excellence
Preferred: Material Handling Industry conveyor automation intralogistics and/or related ME design experience preferred
