DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The primary responsibility of this position is the provision of supportive and supplemental services to children and families in their own homes. The Social Services Aide 3 joins with caseworkers and social workers in a teamwork relationship to increase the intensity and effectiveness of service delivery. Each member of the team must carry his or her designated role with a high degree of sensitivity skill and independent judgment. In this important role you must be able to testify in Court with credibility as to observations and assessments. Additional responsibilities to include but not limited to providing transportation assistance and assisting families in locating and using community supports. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Fulltime employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM Monday Friday with 30minute lunch.
  • Telework:You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary:In some cases the starting salary may be nonnegotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a County Social Services Aide 2; or
  • Graduation from high school or its equivalency and three years of experience in public contact work in a human services agency which included one year of experience in interviewing and obtaining information; or
  • An associates degree in sociology social welfare psychology gerontology criminal justice or other related social sciences and one year of experience in a human services agency; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Legal Requirements:

  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including but not limited to PA State Police clearance PA Child Abuse history clearance and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
