POSITION PURPOSE

The Dispatcher oversees the scheduling staging tracking and reporting of the Divisions daily activity and coordinates this activity with customers and Division employees. This position assists with getting work crews equipment and materials to appropriate locations according to customer requests specifications or needs. The Dispatcher also completes several administrative tasks for the Division.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Employee shall perform all duties and responsibilities with Sunlands Core Values at the forefront.
  • Must be an advocate of safety and follow safety policies and procedures.
  • Schedule and assign work crews vehicles and equipment for projects daily.
  • Coordinate operations between customers and departments.
  • Receive and prepare work orders.
  • Order materials and/or subcontractors to perform/complete jobs.
  • Monitor job progress and assist with maintaining production schedule. .
  • Relay completion dates to Accounting and Sales.
  • Process production accounts payable invoices promptly and accurately.
  • Maintain written logs files and computer documentation regarding projects.
  • Relay work orders messages and information to or from work crews and supervisors.
  • Confer with customers or supervising personnel in order to address questions problems and requests.
  • Act as liaison between own division/supervisor and others such as other departments external contacts clients etc.
  • Handle questions and complaints from customers and/or employees.
  • May perform basic administrative and clerical functions which could include filing copying binding reports simple typing etc.
  • Assist with new hire paperwork and coordinating orientation.
  • Assist with Division training.
  • Act as the point of contact for Division employees.

Safety

  • This position is considered a safetysensitive position and is subject to the companys drug and alcohol policy as well as all OHSA regulations.
  • All employees must wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Serves as a safety ambassador by complying with federal state and local laws as well as Company safety policy enforces safe work practices and proactively identifies and remedies worksite hazards.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • This position operates in a professional office environment that routinely uses standard office equipment requiring the ability to communicate in person and over the telephone with other employees the ability to interpret printed materials and a computer screen the stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions the ability to lift and carry supplies and files weighing up to 10 pounds and to move about the inside of the office to access supplies office machinery etc.
  • May be required to work on a project site and if so would be exposed to all weather including extreme hot and cold temperatures.
  • Employee might be exposed to various chemicals vapors pollutants virus or other airborne pathogens gases uneven surfaces loud noises moving vehicles or machines and dust/debris.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

  • This is a fulltime position. Occasional overtime may be required as job duties demand.

Travel

  • No travel required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Work Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • One 1 to three 3 years industry related experience preferred.
  • Proficient at Microsoft Office (Word Excel Power Point Outlook)
  • Strong computer written and oral skills required.
  • Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations.
  • Strong critical thinking skills.
  • Must be fluent in English i.e. must be able to speak read and write English.

Certifications Licenses and Registrations

  • Passing a preemployment drug and alcohol screening and background check is required.
