This position supervises clinical staff and students in the outpatient therapy services of Occupational Therapy Physical Therapy SpeechLanguage Pathology and Audiology at the Center for Disabilities and Development. This position will maintain and evaluate current patient care programs predicting the need for new programs and implementing changes in present programs to ensure the quality of care. Assist in ensuring the delivery of highquality care to patients while maintaining efficient and effective workflows by planning organizing and supervising the treatment of patients manage daily operations and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
This position will also provide formal examination and evaluations with the interpretation of findings and administer or recommend appropriate treatments for pediatric and adult patients with complex developmental/childhoodonset conditions or injuries. Provide empathetic and evidencebased interventions to improve physical social and intellectual abilities promoting overall wellbeing. This position is 50 managerial and 50 clinical responsibilities.
- Plans and carries out staff recruitment orientation and development.

- Provide quality patient care evaluation assessment and treatment appropriate for patients with complex or specialized needs.
- The primary area of responsibility is outpatient therapy for pediatric patients served through the Center for Disabilities and Development.
- Coordinate and collaborate with other providers and families as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
- Participate in the development of innovative clinical teaching activities to meet the learning needs of staff and students.
- Lead department quality/process improvement activities and recommend opportunities for improvement in service quality.

- Participate in the development of and conduct innovative clinical teaching activities to meet the learning needs of staff and students.
- Coordinate clinical education for physical therapy professional students.

Required Qualifications:
- A Masters degree or equivalent combination of clinical experience and education in a field related to the clinical practice of one of the professions represented (physical therapy or occupational therapy) within the department is required.
- Licensure in accordance with the Iowa Board of Physical and Occupational Therapy by the time of hire.
- Minimum of 3 years of rehabilitation experience in Occupational or Physical Therapy.
- Experience in evaluation and treatment of pediatric patients with developmental disabilities and diseases of childhood.
- Experience with mobility assessment including wheelchair seating and equipment and assistive devices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including ability to demonstrate public speaking ability positive interpersonal skills and ability to work as a member of and/or lead teams and work groups.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in leadership/management roles.
- Experience managing budgets and financial and productivity data.
- Knowledge of University and UI Health Care policies procedures and regulations.
