Overview

Summary

Responsible for the preparation and serving of all alcoholic beverages at the Timberline Bar & Grill to contribute to guest satisfaction and premier customer service atmosphere. Fulltime and parttime positions available.

Pay and Benefits:

Seasonal Employees are eligible for the Seasonal Employee Layoff Bonus Plan. The plan is designed to provide an effective means to motivate and compensate eligible seasonal employees during the term of their assignment. However Goldbelt Inc. may in certain limited circumstances grant discretionary performance bonuses outside of this program in the sole discretion of the Company.

Goldbelt Inc. hopes that by providing shortterm incentive compensation this will motivate and increase the retention rate among its employees which in turn will enhance Goldbelt Inc.s longterm value.

Starting Wage: $15.00 DOE

Qualifications

Necessary Skills & Knowledge

  • Knowledge and familiarity with State of Alaska liquor laws.
  • Knowledge of computerized cash register systems cash collection procedures.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with other employees.
  • Ability to work directly with the public providing information and assistance on a daily basis.
  • Ability/willingness to learn and pass on to guests those areas of interest to visitors such as local history people culture geography etc.
  • Ability to meet time and attendance requirements.
  • Ability to work all different shifts including holidays and weekends.
  • Ability to handle stress under pressure.
  • Ability to provide quality customer service.
  • Ability and willingness to maintain a clean healthy and safe working environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to handle heavy customer contact and excellent customer service skills.
  • A positive focus and customer service skills is in order to ensure the return of our customers.
  • Knowledge of customer service techniques.

Preferrred Qualifications (education experience skills)

  • High school or GED
  • Experience in a tourrelated or entertainment industry desired
  • Knowledge of safety and emergency procedures including CPR and First Aid certification
  • Three 3 or more years experience as a bartender.
  • Current Training for Alcohol Professional (TAP) card.
  • One 1 year of bartender experience.
  • State of Alaska Food Workers Card.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check.
  • Drug testing may be required.

Responsibilities

Job Duties

  • Responsible for the efficient and effective operation of sales of Alcohol and selling Nature center Products
  • Coordinates sales receipts reporting with the Front of House Manager and staff.
  • Stocks and maintains alcohol and products for ongoing inventory.
  • Responsible for adherence to standard bar opening operating and closing procedures along with ability to handle all complaints quickly and efficiently in the customers best interests.
  • Ensures workspace and equipment are kept sanitary and in an orderly manner
  • Ensures liquor serving laws and TB&G House Alcohol Policy are being followed; maintains high service standards pertaining to customer conduct
  • Performs other incidental and related duties as assigned by the Front of House Manager.
  • Staying knowledgeable about our range of products and actively promotes merchandise to increase customers options and enrich the shopping experience
  • Processing orders in a prompt manner using a POS (point of sale) system
  • Promoting special sales offers and awareness of store loyalty program
  • Explain characteristics and origin of art/merchandise to customers.
  • Ensures daily that the Nature Center is cleaned fully stocked and neat in appearance.
  • Assists with opening and closing procedures.
  • Assists with training of staff when appropriate.
  • Operates the cash register; makes and records cash receipt transactions.
  • Assumes all responsibility for Nature Center till.
  • Assists with hauling supplies to/from retail locations
