of Job Duties:The Community College Liaison serves as a resource to central Arkansas Community College students and advisors from the following institutions: the University of Arkansas Pulaski Technical College (UAPTC) University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton (UACCM) Arkansas State University at Beebe (ASUB) Arkansas State University Three Rivers (ASUTR) National Park College (NPC) and Southeast Arkansas College (SEARK). The liaison is responsible for providing comprehensive guidance for community college advisors and students to ensure a smooth transition for students to the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR). The CC Liaison position will report to the Associate Registrar for Transfer Student Services. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.
Qualifications:
Required Experience Education and Expertise
- Baccalaureate Degree;
- Two years experience in a college setting;
- Evidence of strong oral listening and written communication skills;
- Evidence of skills and ability to utilize technology;
- Experience working in a team environment.
Preferred Education and/or Experience
- Experience in academic advising and/or transfer knowledge;
- Workday or ERP equivalent experience preferred.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Establish strong and collaborative partnerships with central Arkansas CC advisors and administrators (UAPTC NPC ASUB SEARK UACCM ASU Three Rivers (Formerly COTO);
- Establish strong and collaborative partnerships with UA Little Rock Admissions Financial Aid and Scholarships and College Advising centers;
- Lead CC student workshops to help students learn about the transfer process and resources available;
- Collaborate with campus partners to assist with the onboarding process;
- Acquire/maintain expert knowledge of UA Little Rock admission standards advising procedures and degree requirements;
- Acquire/maintain general knowledge of scholarship opportunities and financial aid guidelines to best inform transfer students;
- Assist with 22 transfer agreement maintenance;
- Coordinate with transfer recruiter and admissions event coordinator for college visits and transfer recruitment events providing presentations as needed;
- Working knowledge of institutional requirements and deadlines;
- Support Transfer Specialists and TCA staff as needed or directed;
- Provide relevant information to Associate Reg/Registrar to improve transfer processes making suggestions as needed;
- Assist with Transfer Equivalency Guide as needed or as directed by Associate Registrar for Transfer Student Services;
- Perform other duties as assigned;
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Ability to provide excellent customer service consistently and professionally to all internal and external constituents;
- Ability to work a flexible schedule which may include nights weekends and holidays and working on theUALRmain campus;
- Knowledge of UALRs undergraduate admissions standards and academic advising procedures;
- Ability to work under deadlines in a diverse and dynamic/changing environment;
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently with common goals as a part of a team;
- Ability to learn quickly UALRs student information system and willingness to learn new university technologies;
- Ability to work with diverse students in a nonjudgmental manner;
- Knowledge of computers and software including Microsoft Word Excel and Access;
- Effective interpersonal communication writing and organizational ability;
- Must possess a valid drivers license with the ability to drive a motor vehicle.
