Automation of financial record keeping (FRK) is a critical scaling challenge across digital businesses today. The DA FRK organization has the charter for simplifying and speeding up the endtoend accounting automation journey by creating a new architecture.
You will work as a technical leader within the team and will independently define the architecture for the Next Gen financial automation programs. You will also influence the technical direction of other teams both within the Digital Acceleration org and in partner businesses. This is a great opportunity to tackle some very interesting and complex architectural problems innovate in the space and drive product direction. We are looking for an SDE who can help set the technical strategy across multiple teams and help expand our vision. You will be leading and building solutions that impact all digital businesses working with smart engineers and leaders.

Prioritize being a really great people manager. Building motivating rewarding and coaching a diverse team of Software Development Engineers is the most important part of this role. You will recruit and retain top talent and excel in daytoday people and performance management tasks.
Contribute to architecture and design discussions for full stack software.
Lead your team to evolve our service architecture with quality robustness and Amazon sized scale as top priorities. You will regularly take part in deepdive troubleshooting exercises and drive technical postmortem discussions to identify the root cause of complex issues.
Set a vision for your team and create product roadmaps.
Help your team sort out technical and product requirements and priorities. Deliver product roadmap items and crossteam projects.

3 years of engineering team management experience
7 years of working directly within engineering teams experience
3 years of designing or architecting (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
8 years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing certification and livesite operations
Experience partnering with product or program management teams
Experience in communicating with users other technical teams and senior leadership to collect requirements describe software product features technical designs and product strategy
Experience in recruiting hiring mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective product software engineers

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $166400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $287700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
