Overview

The Senior Distribution Manager is the senior site leader responsible for the daytoday operations in a dynamic distribution center who is ultimately accountable for executing daily operations to achieve business objectives and profitability safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

The Senior Manager of Distribution is responsible for but not limited to:

Associate Relations

  • Prepare maintain and communicate all operational goals while ensuring all operating procedures are being followed per company guidelines
  • Manage coach mentor and develop staff to achieve objectives; conduct performance reviews
  • Participate in the recruitment and new hire onboarding process while ensuring SCLSs culture is being fostered
  • Perform supervisory responsibilities by the organizations policies and procedures
  • Address complaints and resolve problems

Customer Relations

  • Provide superior customer service by maintaining professional and courteous relationships with all customers
  • Interface with internal stakeholders as well as customers to establish and accomplish goals
  • Communicate progress/conditions and conduct tours for the customer as directed by upper management
  • Audit operations to ensure service standards are being met
  • Act as a liaison with carrier contractors and customers
  • Act as a community representative for SCLS
  • Create and deliver effective verbal presentations to management and customers as necessary

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure company values are observable throughout the operation
  • Monitor space utilization/layout to ensure efficient and costeffective operations
  • Monitor and ensure departmental/facility key performance indicators (KPI) are met in a timely and costeffective manner
  • Ensure proper maintenance and sanitation of equipment grounds pest control and refuse disposal

Business Profitability

  • Ongoing management of facility fiscal performance including profit & loss and budgeting
  • Ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of all necessary reports and records regarding facility operations
  • Monitor facility purchasing process to include auditing guideline compliance and approval by creating programs to maximize cost savings for SCLS and customers
  • Manage inbound and outbound loading/unloading the accuracy of inventory and warehousing

Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in Logistics Business Management or another related field is highly preferred; high school diploma required
  • 710 years of experience within the 3PL industry
  • 5 years of leadership experience in a warehouse or distribution center
  • 2 years of experience managing a P&L

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to drive results and develop a team while creating solid relationships with clients and internal associates
  • Excellent communication and presentations skills; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers clients associates and the public
  • Identify and understand issues problems and opportunities; possess solid judgment problemsolving and decisionmaking skills
  • Strong analytical skills including analysis and interpretation of complex business documents as well as statistics and modeling
  • A proven track record of mentoring and developing direct reports and subordinates
