Crafco has an opening for an Equipment Fleet Service Mechanic at our Memphis TN supply center location.
The Service Technician is responsible for troubleshooting diagnosing and repairing specialized pavement preservation equipment including company rental fleets and customer equipment. They are also responsible for the routine and preventative maintenance of company rental fleet units. Service Technicians will operate forklifts complete necessary paperwork and complete assigned tasks in a safe and timely manner to achieve the highest level of service and customer experience expectations. They consistently deliver a positive customer experience anticipate customer needs suggest alternatives and provide solutions. Service Technicians are responsible for managing the daytoday service operations/work orders cleanliness and safety of the shop area working with a crossfunctional team and providing backup to other supply center functions as needed.

Equipment Fleet Mechanic Duties:
- Maintain a tidy clean and safe work environment adhere to all safety procedures.
- Maintain professional customer relationships with positive interactions.
- Safely diagnose and execute the service/repair and preventative maintenance of rental equipment and/or customer equipment.
- QC/QA completed service work to verify accuracy of work order and ensure equipment for operational readiness.
- Prepare service work schedules to meet customer needs rental fleet needs and meet all turnaroundtimes/due dates for repair completion.
- Review all service recommendations with customer before performing repairs and execute service work per customer approval and within agreed upon turn around time/date.
- Conduct service calls over the phone to assist with troubleshooting within reason as needed for customers and coworkers. Escalate calls and/or recommend equipment be brought in for service as needed.
- Perform high quality service work and strive to do the job right the first time.
- Perform preventative and routine maintenance checks on rental equipment before rental checkout and after rental checkin to assess: any damage hours used tires mileage fuel/oil levels safety decals and all safety/DOT compliance.
- Team Player. Provide assistance to all other service technicians as needed for troubleshooting diagnosing service/repair needs and performing service work.
- Keep rental equipment in working order and in clean presentable condition.
- Load and unload equipment while complying with DOT regulations.
- Prepare and run up new equipment deliveries for rent or sale/delivery to customer. Identify and solve any issues before equipment is placed in rental fleet/delivered to customer.
- Assist with deliveries of products or equipment as needed.
- Perform rental checkout procedures with customers covering proper operation and safety/safe use of equipment.
- Maintain a positive and professional demeanor with coworkers vendors and customers.
- Orders parts as needed to maintain adequate supplies.
- Proactively work with equipment vendors Equipment Product Manager Service Program Manager and/or Regional Manager to learn maintenance requirements and capabilities of new equipment systems or parts.
- Evaluate all equipment after repairs maintenance or safety checks.
- Handle customer complaints and/or questions regarding equipment condition or operation.
- Fabricate parts as needed to meet needs.
- Perform safety inspections and D.O.T. compliance checks on equipment.
- Meet all company governmental and equipmentspecific safety requirements.
- Perform other job duties as assigned. Be available to perform back up functions for other supply center personnel as needed
Equipment Fleet Mechanic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 1 years related work experience
- Mechanical aptitude; familiarity with variety of tools and their safe use/operation
- Valid US Drivers License with acceptable driving history
- Ability to troubleshoot and problemsolve while working under pressure or with deadlines
- Ability to work independently be selfdirected and take initiative in prioritizing and executing work responsibilities
- Resourceful able to find solutions to projects and problems
- Safe operation of tools including power tools torches lifts drills etc.
- Physical ability to perform job functions including but not limited to: standing sitting bending squatting or remaining in uncomfortable positions for extended periods of time lifting/moving large bulky and/or heavy items 50 lbs. or more) frequently working in adverse conditions including hot/cold both indoors and outdoors and/or in inclement weather
- Must possess a high degree of safetyawareness
- Display and encourage a positive attitude work well with others
- Desire to support customers needs and provide outstanding service and deliver quality work
- Ability for local travel as needed
