Job Description
Your role as the Building Inspection Manager will both utilize and expand your talents to provide project management and oversight of residential projects as well as supervision of the residential department. In addition to your daily responsibilities you will have the opportunity to create lasting relationships with our diverse team and directly contribute to our path to becoming the most sought after respected and successful engineering firm in the country.
Job Responsibilities:
- Travel to various job sites in a company provided vehicle as needed
- Manage the full lifecycle of residential projects and services
- Lead a team of project managers and code compliance inspectors
- Ensure projects adhere to engineering best practices safety standards and quality control procedures
- Perform technical review of proposals reports and calculations
- Track department budget revenue forecasts and financial performance
- Set goals for the residential group and develop staff skills through training initiatives
- Assist senior staff with business development efforts through community involvement and client engagement
- Attend project meetings and troubleshoot problems in the field
- Promote company values positive culture and high employee engagement
- Review daily field reports from a technical oversight
- Approve weekly timesheets and department expense reports
- Prepare invoices
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Required: ICC B1 WACEL Foundation or ACI Reinforced Concrete
- Preferred: ICC M1 P1 and E1
- 6 years of residential or related code compliance experience
- Excellent communication leadership and project management skills
- Strong technical knowledge of safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals
- Experience with budgets forecasts and financial management.
- Valid Drivers License with acceptable driving record
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Operational and project management experience
- Experience in overseeing code compliance inspections
- Ability to evaluate Request for Proposals attend site meetings or converse with potential clients to develop a scope of services and associated cost estimate
- Understand companies goal and objectives and execute accordingly
- Understanding of human resource management principles practices and procedures
- Strong leadership skills; strong and proven work ethic
- Excellent written oral and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to analyze and correct operational issues
- Ability to present ideas in businessfriendly and userfriendly language
- Highly selfmotivated selfdirected and attentive to detail
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a highpressure environment
- Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks at a time
- Proactive problem solver
- Must enjoy being part of a team have a can do positive attitude and be confidential with all matters
- Ability to work and interact with handson level to interactions with senior management
- Ability to thrive and function in the everchanging environment of a growing company
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
- Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions such as wet and/or humid environments extreme cold and/or heat dusty and noisy work environments.
- Office work requiring longterm sitting and computer work.
- Some weekend and overtime work and/or overnight work and travel may be required. You may be required to drive hundreds of miles per day.
- Ability to use your senses to see (including close distant and peripheral vision depth vision and ability to focus) smell hear and touch (use your hands to reach climb or balance crouch stoop crawl kneel and sit).
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.
