Location: Based out of Boise ID. Boise Leaders/members will commute to the central meeting location each day. Leader training before the crews launch involves camping.
Urban and Community Forestry (UCF) crew members complete urban forest health projects for five weeks throughout the Treasure Valley area. Crews will work on urban forestry projects such as tree planting and maintenance wildfire protection and invasive plant management. You will colead a closeknit team of 8 crew members committed to playing a vital role in improving our urban forests and the environment.
Position Details:
Urban and Community Forestry Crew Leaders colead manage and supervise conservation crews of up to eight youth ages 1518 over the course of the summer. The summer season is broken down into two fiveweek sessions so leaders will oversee two separate groups over their term of service. Crews work Monday through Friday and meet each morning at a central location in their community. While on session Field Leaders will be responsible for completing a variety of handson conservationoriented projects on public and private lands and facilitating daily lessons using our accredited outdoor education curriculum. Field leaders are wellbalanced individuals who work hard and embody compassion patience and an inspirational attitude.
Benefits: This Northwest Youth Corps/Idaho Conservation Corps position is operated in partnership with AmeriCorps our countrys national service program. AmeriCorps members complete paid terms of national community service to address our nations most pressing issues.
As an AmeriCorps member you will receive a living allowance of $725/week totaling $7250 with an AmeriCorps education award of $1956.35.
