Finance Manager WW Operations - SCOT Fulfillment Optimization Level 6

The Fulfillment Optimization (FO) team automates and optimizes decisionmaking for this network.

The FO Finance team is seeking a Finance Manager to support the Fulfillment Optimization team. They will be responsible for providing financial support for fulfillment projects that drive multibillion dollar fulfillment decisions. This role will partner closely with teams of data scientists economists machine learning specialists software developers and product managers who lead the industry in the development of innovative algorithms and optimization strategies to maximize long term growth and profitability of Amazons Consumer business.

The candidate will be responsible for financial planning inputs and explaining output of scientific models that drive worldwide network transportation design and connectivity decisions to support key planning targets. This includes developing a deep understanding of cost inflection points and their associated financial tradeoff curves.

Key job responsibilities
Leading crossfunctional teams through partnership with Technology Operations and Finance to drive both shortterm incremental improvements and longterm strategic changes to our fulfillment network and optimization software
Root cause issues quickly and uncover core issues using data then assist consult with and teach the business how decisions affect costs and create new mechanisms as they are needed
Partnering with finance leaders across Amazon to design and execute programs to drive value
Communicating financial and business results to senior business leaders

Bachelors degree in finance accounting business economics or a related analytical field (e.g. engineering math computer science)
5 years of finance experience or Masters degree and 3 years of finance experience

MBA or CPA
Advanced Excel skills
Ability to query data using advanced SQL
Experience working with largescale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL MS Access Essbase Cognos)
6 years of experience in solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models analysis and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g. financial savings operational improvements or customer benefits)
6 years of experience in identifying incomplete or inaccurate data identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan
6 years of experience in forecasting budgeting and variance analysis and data interpretation of results

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
