We Require
High school diploma or GED
One year of experience operating trucks and equipment
Must possess a valid Arizona Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with a Tanker Endorsement
State and federal regulations require Maricopa County to conduct a preemployment safety history investigation for all positions that require an applicant to possess a commercial drivers license (CDL). Maricopa County is also required to conduct a preemployment safety history investigation for positions that directly impact commercial motor vehicle safety but may not specifically require a valid CDL

Two or more years of transportation construction or roadway maintenance experience
Job Contributions
Operate a variety of trucks and equipment in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures
Haul materials transport vehicles and equipment to job sites using various trucks
Perform manual labor assignments as needed
Inspect clean and perform routine maintenance work on trucks and equipment; identify and report mechanical problems requiring additional repair
Complete required daily logs and prepare reports; attend safety meetings
Complete daily written reports and enter information into the Cartegraph asset management system
Perform traffic control activities as needed; report safety hazards and traffic problems
Perform other duties as assigned
Working Conditions
Exerting over 100 pounds occasionally 50 100 pounds frequently or up to 20 50 pounds constantly
Incumbent may be subjected to extreme temperatures wetness/humidity respiratory hazards and noise and vibration
Incumbent may be subjected to moving mechanical parts vibrations fumes odors dusts poor ventilation chemicals oils extreme temperatures inadequate lighting workspace restrictions intense noises and travel
Machines tools equipment software and hardware
Commercial motor vehicles various construction equipment including but not limited to water trucks dump trucks skid steers sweepers Broce Brooms trailers and hand tools
Protective equipment required
Hard hat gloves eye protection and steeltoed boots
