What Youll Do:

As an Accountant I or II at OURCU youll play a vital role in our daytoday financial operations. Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the monthend closing process: Assisting in the preparation of financial reports posting accruals and ensuring all balances are reconciled.
  • Managing accounts payable: Processing invoices reconciling vendor statements and ensuring all payments are made accurately and on time.
  • Tracking and posting loan and investment payments: Maintaining records and assisting with the tracking of real estate commercial and investment payments.
  • Balancing the general ledger: Reconciling various transactions including ACH transactions coin deposits and daily ATM transactions ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Additional Duties for Accountant II:

  • Advanced reconciliation and reporting: Youll be responsible for preparing detailed financial reports including rolling forward balance sheets and income statements and ensuring accuracy in financial data.
  • Audit preparation and periodic exams: Youll actively support internal and external audits by gathering and organizing documentation preparing schedules and engaging in discussions with auditors.
  • Fixed asset tracking and reporting: Managing the reconciliation of fixed assets preparing personal property tax returns and ensuring compliance with asset reporting standards.
  • Lead and crosstrain team members: Youll help train junior team members sharing your expertise in accounts payable reconciliation and monthend processes ensuring smooth operations across departments.
  • Ownership of complex tasks: As an Accountant II youll handle more advanced duties such as supporting CECL model data managing prepaid and accrued expenses and providing strategic input for financial reporting.

What Were Looking For:

Were looking for someone who can quickly learn and handle complex accounting tasks with reliability. If youve worked in a financial institution thats a plus but if not well train the right person whos eager to grow!

Key Qualifications:

  • Experience: 2 years in accounting or related work preferably in a financial institution
  • Skills: Familiarity with GAAP strong proficiency in Excel and great attention to detail
  • Personality: Reliable quick to learn selfmotivated and ready to contribute to a team that cares
  • Preferred Education: Bachelors degree in accounting finance or a related field
