DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled and experienced Neuroradiologist to join our medical team in a PRN role. As a neuroradiologist you will be responsible for interpreting images of the brain spine and nervous system using various imaging techniques such as MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) CT (computed tomography) PET (positron emission tomography) ultrasound and Xray.
- Image Interpretation: Utilize your expertise for accurately interpreting neuroradiology images of the brain spine and nervous system obtained through various imaging modalities. This involves identifying abnormalities tumors vascular malformations injuries infections and other pathologies.
- Diagnostic Reporting: Prepare detailed and comprehensive diagnostic reports based on your interpretations of neuroradiology imaging studies. Ensure that reports are clear concise and provide clinically relevant information to assist referring physicians in patient management.
- Consultation and Collaboration: Collaborate with other medical specialists to discuss imaging findings provide insights into complex cases and offer recommendations for further diagnostic testing or treatment planning.
- Minimally Invasive Procedures:Perform minimally invasive imageguided procedures such as biopsies aspirations and techniques such as fluoroscopy CT or ultrasound to precisely target and navigate instruments within the brain spine or peripheral nervous system. Administer local anesthesia or sedation as needed to ensure patient comfort during procedures.
- Quality Assurance:Maintain high standards of quality and accuracy of imaging studies within the neuroradiology practice. This involves adhering to established protocols for image acquisition interpretation and reporting as well as participating in quality improvement initiatives and peer review processes to ensure the highest level of patient care.
- Continuing Education: Stay updated with the latest advancements techniques and guidelines in neuroradiology through continuous education (CME) and participation in relevant conferences workshops and seminars.
- Patient Care: Demonstrate empathy professionalism and excellent communication skills in interactions with patients undergoing neuroradiology imaging studies. Provide clear explanations of procedures and findings to patients and address any concerns or questions they may have.
- Research and Academic Activities: Engage in research activities aimed at advancing the field of neuroradiology. Also participate in teaching medical students residents and fellows imparting knowledge about imaging techniques anatomy and pathology of the central nervous system.
- Adherence to Regulatory Guidelines: Ensure compliance with all regulatory guidelines standards and protocols related to neuroradiology imaging patient safety and data confidentiality.
- Equipment Maintenance: Collaborate with the technical staff to ensure proper maintenance and calibration of imaging equipment used for neuroradiology studies ensuring optimal image quality and diagnostic accuracy.
- Teamwork and Professional Development: Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment by actively participating in team meetings case discussions and professional development activities. Mentor and support junior staff and residents in their training and development in neuroradiology radiology.
- Requirements:
MD or DO Degree
Board certified or board eligible in diagnostic radiology and certified or eligible for Neuroradiology subspecialty certificate (CAQ).
Fellowship trained in Neuroradiology.
North Carolina Medical License or Eligible.
