POSITION SUMMARY

This role assists sales representatives by providing technical support to help sell company products. Serves as a conduit between the field and the other applicable internal departments. This support includes providing technical information on company products and the application of these products assistance with custom product features and pricing ancillary product selection and pricing and quotation of 3rd party equipment related to company products. Mentors and trains entry level Application Engineers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Teams with Vertiv external sales force to own and grow assigned accounts.
  • Prepares and presents competitive quotations/submittals for existing and new customer accounts through application of products and services to meet customer requirements.
  • Qualifies new accounts through sales process and recommends product offerings and pricing to win business.
  • Provides technical expertise and support on products to new and existing customers.
  • Provides application engineering support to customers and other Vertiv teams as needed.
  • Contributes towards product forecasting and strategic inventory investment decisions to ensure customer expectations are met regarding availability and delivery.
  • Recommends and assists in product demonstrations and product training for both assigned customer base and sales team responsible for this customer base.
  • Assists sales team in developing strategies for managing accounts to meet plan margins for product sales and determine projected margins to win business through competitive analysis.
  • Evaluates and responds to tender/customer contract renewals through the preparation of quotations/RFQS ensuring product compatibility for application and competitive pricing response.
  • Participates in sales calls account presentations trade shows and promotional events.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree (business engineering marketing communications preferred) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 years of relevant experience with 1 years of experience in technical scope review and formal proposal development.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects effectively and efficiently.
  • Ability to forecast completion dates and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Strong problemsolving skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Application engineering expertise in the telecommunications market
  • Marketing/Sales and/or Customer Service experience.
  • Oracle Visio and/or CAD experience

PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

  • No special physical requirements.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
