We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SpeechLanguage Pathologist to join our preschool special education team. In this role you will work with children aged 35 to support the development of their speech language and communication skills in a fun playbased environment. You will have the opportunity to assess diagnose and treat a variety of speech and language disorders collaborating with families teachers and a multidisciplinary team to help children meet their individualized educational goals.
Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions of Position:
Assessment and Diagnosis:
Conduct comprehensive evaluations of speech language and communication skills to determine therapy needs.
Use formal and informal assessment tools to identify articulation phonological expressive receptive and social communication challenges.
Collaborate with the IEP team to establish goals and recommend services.
Intervention Planning:
Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) based on assessment results and IEP goals.
Design and implement group sessions to target shared language or social communication needs.
Incorporate playbased and developmentally appropriate strategies to engage preschoolers in therapy.
Implementation:
Provide direct therapy to address speech language and pragmatic communication delays.
Support students with alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) systems when appropriate.
Embed speech and language strategies into classroom routines to foster communication development.
Collaboration and Consultation:
Work closely with teachers occupational therapists physical therapists and other team members to support communication goals across settings.
Provide training and resources to parents and caregivers to reinforce language skills at home.
Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and IEP conferences to discuss student progress and recommendations.
Assist in classroom activities and support instructional needs as well as perform other duties as assigned by the Director to ensure the smooth operation of the program.
Documentation and Compliance:
Maintain accurate and timely records of assessments therapy sessions progress and attendance.
Prepare detailed progress reports and updates for IEP reviews and meetings.
Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding therapy services.
Professional Development and Training:
Stay current with advancements in pediatric speechlanguage pathology particularly in early intervention and schoolbased services.
Provide inservice training for teachers and staff on speechlanguage development and communication strategies.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to stand sit use hands to finger handle or feel talk and hear.
Walk to and from various locations in the building.
May need to stoop bend and sometimes lift or push wheelchairs of children being served.
Physical intervention techniques may be required to aid the children in challenging moments.
Specific vision abilities include close vision distance vision and ability to focus.

Masters degree in SpeechLanguage Pathology.
Valid state license and ASHA certification (CCCSLP).
Recommended Experience working with preschoolaged children preferably in a 4410 or similar program.
Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
Knowledge of early childhood developmental milestones and playbased interventions.
