Primary Purpose:
The primary purpose of the Banquet Captain is to provide guests with an excellent banquet experience by planning and implementing the serving details for the event.
Work Performed:
TheBanquet Captainwill be tasked with the following duties responsibilities and assignments:
Guide direct and motivate banquetstaff;
Maintain communication with the guest/event contact person for needs;
Direct the setup for tables in assigned area. Ensure the use of clean pressed linen clean unspotted silverware clean china with no chips or cracks clean unspottedglassware etc.;
Confirm the table complements (salt pepper sugar breadbaskets etc. have been properly cleaned andfilled;
Plan the serving order and orchestrate its completion in a timely quiet and courteousmanner;
Ensure the servers are fully prepared to serve the meal timely and promptly;
Setup serve and/or break down coffee breaks receptions and other special functions asassigned;
Be willing and ableto perform job of Banquet Associate and BanquetBartender;
Be willing and able to understand departmental forecasting to ensure appropriate staffinglevels;
Assist Banquet Manager orAll PurposeManager with scheduling training staff and inventory;
Ensure service standards are being followed and takes corrective action when they arenot;
Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures including reporting accidentsinjuriesand unsafe work conditions to management;
Ensure all banquet associates are following all safety and security policies and procedures;
Any and allother work as required to complete the primary purpose of the position.
Required Experience:
Minimum of 6months leadership experience preferably in a banquets/events environment.
Minimum of 6months of banquet/event setup and/or serving experience.
Preferred Education:
High School diploma or equivalent
Required Licenses/ Certification:
Food Safety certificate or complete training during initial 90 days.
Alcohol certification or complete training during initial 90 days.
Physical:
Ability to lift pull and push up to 50 pounds.
Ability to bend and squat repeatedly. Ability to walk and stand for duration of scheduled shift
Other:
Must be flexible to working days early mornings evenings nightsweekendsand holidays.
