Job Description

We are looking for a compassionate GNA to join our growing team! The right candidate has a cando attitude a friendly demeanor and the ability to provide many levels of support to our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Must be able to read write speak and understand the English language.
  • Must be able to lift turn move position and transport residents alone or with assistance.
  • Observe residents conditions measuring/recording food/liquid intake and output as well as vital signs then report changes to professional staff as applicable.
  • Collect specimens such as urine feces or sputum.
  • Must be able to explain medical instructions to residents and family members.
  • Work as part of a medical team that examines and provides service to residents.
  • Administer medications and treatments such as catheterizations suppositories irrigations enemas massages and s as directed by a physician or nurse.
  • Answer residents call lights.
  • Provide residents with help walking exercising and moving in and out of bed.
  • Must be able to assist residents with baths showers personal grooming feeding and toiletry.
  • Transport residents to treatment units using a wheelchair or stretcher.
  • Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents.
  • Restrain residents if necessary.
  • Prepare serve and collect food trays.
  • Clean rooms and change linens as instructed.
  • Deliver messages documents and specimens.
  • Answer phones and direct visitors as needed.
  • Maintain inventory by storing preparing sterilizing and issuing supplies such as dressing packs and treatment trays.
  • Perform clerical duties such as processing documents and detailing residents condition.
  • Provide personal hygiene assistance for elderly patients or those recovering from surgeries injuries or accidents by attending to their basic needs such as showering bathing dressing and eating.

Qualifications

  • Enjoy working in a oneonone setting eager to improve and continuously learn new skills.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with physical capability to perform jobrelated duties.
  • Valid drivers license and reliable transportation every single day.
  • Validated ability to act in a compassionate and supportive manner.
  • Available to work different shifts including nights and/or weekends.
  • Prior experience in a healthcare hospitality or inhome care environment (minimum of 1 year)
  • Willingness to enforce health and safety standards.
  • Supportive and compassionate.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent/Experience as a CNA or completion of a CNA Program
  • Licensed to work in the state of Virginia.
  • Take pride in providing high quality care.
  • Hoyer Lift Experience (specific to client)
