Morris Brown College Request for Proposal (RFP)
Renovation of Historic Fountain Hall for Classroom and Office Space
I. INTODUCTION Morris Brown College is a Historically Black College founded on Christian Principles in 1881 by the African Methodist Episcopal Church. It is located within the Atlanta University Center just west of downtown.
Morris Brown College is inviting qualified developers to submit designbuild proposals for the renovation of Historic Fountain Hall. Erected in 1882 this Victorian style building included the office for Dr. W. E B. Du Bois and the academic space for Morris Brown Colleges Liberal Arts programs. Additionally this historic academic building previously housed an art gallery and office space. Currently not in use Fountain Hall will be modernized to a multifunctional facility that includes classroom space office areas and a gallery space to support the growth on the campus and preservation of this historic building. This renovation is part of the Colleges ongoing commitment to provide highquality education that aligns with the mission to foster academic excellence and student success.
II. PROJECT DESCRIPTION Historic Fountain Hall is located on the Morris Brown College campus at 643 Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. Atlanta Georgia 30314. The building has three floors and a basement. The aim of this renovation project is to provide modern academic classrooms and administrative office space that aligns with the Colleges educational vision and goals. The project should be consistent with the historical significance of the campus and further enhance the aesthetics.
