The Injection Molding Operating Technician I is responsible for preparation setup starting and running manufacturing equipment under the guidance of the Production Shift Leader. Accountabilities also include ensuring that jobs meet quality specifications manufacturing standards and that safety procedures are followed while working to continuously improve quality and productivity of manufacturing operations.
Essential Accountabilities
Machine operation
- Mold setup and removal operate and troubleshoot equipment to produce injectionmolded parts to specification; while running the machine at or above standard rates.
- Ensure maximum efficiency including setup time materials production rate and material consumption.
- Machine readiness inspect machinery equipment and tooling prior to setup.
- Identify issues which adversely affect product requirements and communicate with appropriate department personnel for resolution.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning.
- Identify nonconforming materials/products and work with shift leader for resolution.
- Complete projects as assigned by the Production Shift Leader.
- Lead troubleshooting and repair efforts to production equipment to restore effective operation in a timely manner.
- Assist Process Engineer in any new product or material developments.
- Train other team members on machine operation and skills block training program.
Quality
- Ensure part quality meets established standards
- Perform housekeeping duties
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices
Communication
- Complete all shift documentation/paperwork.
- Shift handoff go over job status and updates with incoming shift.
- Assist with training and orientation of new packaging technicians and temporary associates.
- Lead the production floor in the absence of the Shift Leader in order to maximize productivity and minimize s.
- Make appropriate production decisions in the absence of the Shift Leader.
- Update management on status of the production floor in the absence of the Shift Leader.
Safety
- Participate in safety programs
- Follow all established safety procedures
- Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment
Minimum Qualifications
- One 4 year injection molding experience;
- Mechanical aptitude;
- Ability to read write and speak English to meet training safety and quality requirements.

Heavy Work (lift 3150 lbs. occasionally (one to two times per shift): cases of product and pallets Other Physical Requirements: Bending stooping climbing reaching twisting standing for long periods of time Mental Requirements: Reading writing calculating interpersonal skills reasoning/analysis works with minimal supervision
