Tractor Operator
Ft Liberty NC
Range Control and Airfield Grounds Maintenance
Full Time Hourly
PD Systems is looking to hire Tractor Operators to perform range and airfield grass cutting and grounds maintenance services for the Range Control Pope Simmons and Camp Mackall Army Airfield activities to include but not limited to mowing bush hogging policing edging trimming and other general grounds maintenance of approximately 2416 acres at Fort Liberty North Carolina.
Essential Duties Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Tractor Operators perform grounds maintenance to include mowing bush hogging policing edging trimming and general grounds maintenance of berms firing points airfields and other range associated grounds.
- Operates work related vehicles and equipment including but not limited to gasoline or dieselpowered tractors mowers tow trailers load materials or equipment.
- Performs general operator level maintenance on equipment and machinery.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Tractor Operators must be able to operate standard equipment associated with grounds maintenance to include agricultural tractors and associated attachments including but not limited to front end bucket loader 20 batwing mower deck bush hog cutter eaters and various hand tools etc.
- Must be able to perform grounds policing operations prior to every mowing operation. This grounds policing operation is an integral part of the grass mowing operation. Policing includes all tree limbs s lumber boxes bottles cans paper cardboard rags s metals rocks wire and other debris to be collected and disposed of in the onsite dumpster or as directed.
- Maintenance/grass cutting is based on a fourweek cycle with approximately 1200 acres at the airfields and 1216 acres at the ranges for a total of 2416 acres being completely mowed trimmed bush hogged and policed on a fourweek cycle during the growing season and every six to eight weeks during the limited growing season. During the limited growing season on SAAF personnel shall be required to perform deicing of the runways using a tractor.
- Tractor Operators that have prior experience performing range sustainment and grass cutting at Ft. Liberty NC will be given preference.
- Must have a minimum of two years prior experience operating mowers (regular and zero turn) under 2000 pounds and eaters.
- Position will require the use and operation of a variety of equipment and hand tools.
- Tractor Operators must be able to obtain contractor pass for the installation.
- Must possess a current valid state issued drivers license.
- Must have a high school diploma or GED.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to speak read write and understand English.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Prolonged sitting walking bending and kneeling will be required.
Work Environment:
- Tractor Operators must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions.
Hours of Operation & Location:
- The normal work hours during the week are 6:30 am 4:00 pm however work hours can change due to government requirements.
