Job Description:
The Strategy & Business Operations Manager will be responsible for leading strategic projects including the development of analytical frameworks factbases and recommendations on topics that range across the industries and business segments in which NRG Services operates.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Strategic Initiatives: Management and development of projects in support of key initiatives across strategy business development crosssell initiatives and partnerships
- General project management including project scoping coordination consolidation of materials and communication of results to senior management
- Proactively analyze and translate performance measures benchmarks and related data (qualitative and quantitative) into strategic recommendations and actions plans.
- Research and data collection from stakeholders and external sources
- Analysis of high valueatstake issues
- Development of actionable recommendations based upon research and analysis; synthesize and present findings to senior leadership as necessary
- Management collaboration and consultation with teams in NRG Services and Corporate Functions
- Leadership of or contribution to strategy projects on commercial and operations topics
- Review and challenge of business and functional plans and assumptions
- Ensure linkage and coordination to NRGwide strategy and business objectives
- Support ad hoc analyses to improve factbases or recommendations
- Ad hoc analysis research and communications support for NRG Services Leadership Team and across different functions to address challenges and propose action plans
- Selfdirected research and analysis into a wide variety of topics
- Preparation of highimpact communication materials including summaries and presentations
- Interaction and collaboration with senior stakeholders and executive management team
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelors degree from an accredited fouryear college or university required
- Demonstrable experience of supporting large transformational change programs
- 35 years of experience in Consulting Investment Banking Private Equity Internal Corporate Strategy for a Fortune 500 Company
- A true selfstarter; capable of working independently and on a team
- Experience working in corporate or business strategy functions
- Proven project management skills including an ability to coordinate across teams
- Strong problem structuring and solving skills
- Strong literacy in financial modeling and analysis
- Passion for excellence and the desire to have a significant impact on the business
- Time management prioritization capabilities and attention to detail
- Good knowledge of financial accounting
- Excellent facilitation and presentation skills with solid communication capabilities and practices both oral and written.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and leading others through a changing industry landscape with shifting priorities while maintaining a clear focus on priority issues
- Strong relationship building skills with the ability to broker relationships with stakeholders within and outside the team
- High levels of personal commitment and leadership proactive and tenacious in ensuring critical issues are resolved correctly
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA with a Finance or Strategy concentration preferred
- Working knowledge of the North American energy and services industry
