Job Description

High School diploma or GED required. Certified with Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) within thirty 30 days of date of employment required. CPR certified within 30 days of employment.

Compensation:
Pay Range: $15.50 $19.50 / hour

PartTime PM: Two 12hour shifts/week

Job Highlights
:
Being a patient care technician (PCT) at UAB Medicine is the perfect way to gain handson experience. This role assumes responsibility for certain technical aspects of inpatient care as directed by the RN or LPN on the unit and they work side by side with bedside nurses as part of a care team. PCT responsibilities on this unit can include: ensuring that rooms have adequate patient care supplies retrieving equipment and setting up sterile trays notifying nursing staff of any issues or concerns keeping patient rooms clean and sanitized and assisting the unit secretary with administrative duties which can involve taking calls to respond to neonatal emergencies and codes.

Job Description:
