Job Description
Overview
Element has an opportunity for a Mechanical Testing Technician (Varied Shifts) to join our rapidly expanding team. As a member of the operations team the Mechanical Testing Technician position performs a variety of routine and nonroutine testing assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under direct supervision. The technician positions must be proficient in a number of core business skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules code of conduct and company policies and procedures.
Salary: $20 $27/hr DOE
Responsibilities
- Prepares material specimens for testing
- Performs tests as directed by customer specifications
- At times operates under the supervision of a more senior test technician and/or a Department Manager
- Gathers and records test data
- Maintains a safe work environment
- Constructs and maintains various test fixtures and other laboratory equipment to ensure proper working order with little supervision
Skills / Qualifications
- Working knowledge of laboratory safety
- HS diploma or GED certificate preferred. College or vocational school coursework welcomed
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a testing related field
- Basic understanding of testing concepts
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry a plus
Physical Demands:
- Lifting requirements: lifting <50 lbs. often and >50 lbs. on occasion
