Job Summary
As VIRTUS Wellbeing Health & Safety Manager in Berlin youll partner with construction and facilities teams across multiple sites to uphold and improve WHS standards. Youll ensure consistent governance compliance and best practicesdriving performance and continual improvement. Working closely with local teams and leadership youll play a key role in embedding a strong safety culture while growing your expertise within VIRTUS wider governance framework.
Role Responsibilities
The role includes but is not limited to the following:
Ensure that WH&S risks associated with VIRTUS Germany are identified and managed
WH&S point of contact for VIRTUS Germany
Work with VP WH&S to deliver the VIRTUS WH&S strategy within Germany (Berlin)
Ensure the implementation of health and safety policies and procedures across all VIRTUS sites in Germany
Guide Health and Safety advisors/engineers working directly within construction and operations management activities
Promote a safety first culture across the German organisation promoting WH&S awareness training and engagement at all levels
Conduct regular wellbeing health and safety audits and inspections across construction and operational sites identifying areas for improvement and ensuring that corrective actions are implemented
Ensure that the incident escalation process is followed
Support incident management and lead investigation of incidents and near misses ensuring root causes are identified and addressed to prevent reoccurrence
Monitor and regularly report against WH&S performance indicators for VIRTUS Germany
Support construction and operations with customer WH&S requirements
Be part of dealings with WH&S regulators
Maintain WH&S register of legislation identifying new requirements
Champion ISO45001 certification
Through due diligence be VIRTUS Germany beacon for change process improvement continual improvement enhancement of WH&S standards.

The Requirements
You will possess the following qualifications skills and experience:
An excellent understanding of German Wellbeing Health and Safety legislation
A technical understanding of ISO45001 (Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems)
Externally qualified lead auditor for Health and Safety
At least 4 years demonstrable experience in Health and Safety
NEBOSH National General Certificate (NGC) holder (preferable)
Demonstrable evidence in dealing with the Health and Safety Regulator and Local Regulatory Authorities
The ability to communicate dynamically at all levels and to external partners and with the ability to engage and influence at all levels of an organisation
Experience of broader EMEA H&S requirements (preferable)
Experience in the data centre construction sector experience either directly or indirectly with hyperscale data centre operators lease providers or allied high complexity process driven sectors
Demonstrated ability to lead teams
