About the RoleAn Outstanding Mixed school in Enfield is seeking an inspiring and dedicated English Teacher for a permanent fulltime position commencing in September. The successful English Teacher will cultivate a love for literature and language in students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging English Teacher lessons to students in Key Stages 3 and 4 covering a range of literary genres and language skills.
- Prepare students effectively for GCSE English Language and Literature examinations fostering a deep appreciation of texts.
- Cultivate a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that encourages critical thinking and articulate communication.
- Assess and monitor student progress in English providing thoughtful and constructive feedback as an English Teacher.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the English curriculum and the creation of enriching learning experiences.
- Encourage student participation in literary discussions creative writing and extracurricular activities.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a specialism in English Language and Literature.
- Demonstrated experience in teaching English at the secondary level (Key Stages 3 & 4.
- A strong and comprehensive knowledge of English literature language and effective teaching methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills capable of inspiring a love of reading and writing as an English Teacher.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the varied learning needs and literary interests of students.
- A commitment to collaborative work and a supportive ethos within the English department.
