Job Description
An Outstanding Mixed school in Enfield is seeking an innovative and skilled Design & Technology Teacher specialising in Product Design for a permanent fulltime role commencing in September. The successful Design & Technology Teacher (Product Design) will inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4 to develop their design thinking and practical making skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging Design & Technology Teacher (Product Design) lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Prepare students thoroughly for GCSE Design & Technology focusing on the product design specialism.
- Develop students understanding of design processes materials and manufacturing techniques relevant to product design.
- Assess and monitor student progress in product design providing constructive feedback as a Design & Technology Teacher (Product Design).
- Contribute to the evolution of the design and technology curriculum specifically within product design.
- Maintain a safe and wellequipped product design workshop environment for student learning.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a specialism in Design & Technology with a strong emphasis on Product Design.
- Demonstrated experience in teaching Design & Technology at the secondary level (Key Stages 3 & 4 with a focus on product design.
- Strong practical abilities in a range of making processes and a good understanding of design methodologies.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills essential for managing a practical subject.
- Ability to inspire students creativity and technical proficiency within the field of product design.
- A commitment to collaborative work and a supportive approach within the technology department.
