Key Responsibilities:
Case Management:
Organizing and managing all aspects of a medical malpractice case including setting up files maintaining case calendars and managing deadlines.
Document Preparation:
Drafting legal documents like pleadings motions and discovery requests.
Client Communication:
Communicating with clients and attorneys regarding case updates and progress.
Medical Record Review:
Reviewing and summarizing medical records identifying key information and potential weaknesses in the case.
Legal Research:
Conducting legal research to support the case including researching case law statutes and regulations.
Discovery Compliance:
Assisting with the discovery process including drafting interrogatories preparing requests for production and responding to discovery requests.
Trial Preparation:
Assisting with trial preparation including organizing exhibits preparing witness statements and coordinating with expert witnesses.
