Job Description
AECOM is actively seeking a talented and highly motivated Interior Designer for immediate employment in our Tampa FL office. This position will work within AECOMs Building & Places (BP). Ideal candidates have the ability to be part of a collaborative project team be clientfocused and produce great work.
AECOMs Buildings Places practice includes architecture interiors building engineering workplace strategy master planning urban planning civil engineering landscape architecture and Cost Estimating. Our Tampa office includes all disciplines and regularly works across offices and the region.
The Interior Designer I position presents an opportunity for a candidate to excel in their career and develop expertise and contribute to growing our Interiors team. The position will also provide for career growth opportunity in developing overall professional capabilities including learning to lead projects and teams client interface and relationships and developing an internal network and knowledge. AECOM actively supports continued education training and innovations in professional development.
The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
- Initiate and develop design and construction document drawings through completion for assigned projects in conformance with the requirements applicable codes and design criteria established by the projects discipline leads
- Under mentorship and moderate supervision develop complex interior design drawings
- Exercise sound judgment in assessing problem situations or complex design issues and use effective approaches for choosing a course of action or developing appropriate solutions
- Review discipline supplier documents and other disciplines supplier documents for accuracy
- Perform thorough and accurate material takeoffs for the discipline
- Prepare designs and drawings using project specifications and disciplineassociated written and verbal instructions in accordance with established design practices standards and procedures
- Review completed work with design and drafting personnel responsible for its completion to ensure accuracy and compliance with codes and design data
- Understand and assist with the planning and scheduling of design tasks associated with assigned project
- Assist in interpreting industry codes permits and standards and ensures design and drawing compliance
- Field visits and site surveys
- Collaborate on project teams that may include Interior Designers Architects Engineers Cost Estimators Project Administrators Contractors and Clients
Qualifications :
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Interior Design or Architecture.
- Due to the nature of the work U.S. Citizenship is required for this role
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Interior Design or related field
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
- Experience in project construction documentation using Revit
- Proficient in SketchUp Adobe Creative Suites products Enscape or other related graphic software
- Knowledge of project design and construction documentation and materials
- Portfolio submission required to demonstrate skill set
