Location Profile:
Progressive was founded and incorporated in 1971 in Arlington Texas. HerouxDevtek Inc. purchased Progressive in 2004 who helped to expand the site which has doubled its manufacturing footprint and more than doubled sales and employee base. In August 2012 Precision Castparts Corp. (PCC) acquired Progressive. In January 2022 Progressive merged with ADI Aerospace Dynamics Inc. and now ADI Progressive is one of the largest footprints within the Aerostructures Division of PCC.
Predominantly a provider for large highly complex machined parts kits and assemblies for OEMs and large Tier One providers for both military and commercial market segments. Progressive is a 140000 square foot facility.
Position Summary:
Under direct supervision level one general fabricators perform basic fabricating tasks using jigs fixtures and basic hand and power tools such as saws drills and measuring devices. They will frequently operate manual mills and CNC machines such as the lathe to produce sub assembly components for other areas of the plant as well as performs basic deburr operations such as edge breaking and simple surface finishing tasks using deburr tools. They will demonstrate the ability to interpret work instructions and basic prints as well as possess competencies in basic shop math and inprocess inspection.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Understand adhere and demonstrate the companys commitment to SAFETY and
- Setup and full operation of several different assets within the plant such as the manual mill CNC lathe and 3axis vertical mills. Tasks to be performed include (but not limited to):
- Loading and unloading fixtures jigs and vises onto mill beds and chucks onto lathe machines.
- Indication of dimensional features on aluminum and titanium parts to perform tighttolerance fabrication and rework.
- Basic programming modifications to produce tighttolerance bushings per blueprint drawings and job planning.
- Perform basic visual and mechanical inprocess inspection operations to ensure fabricated components meet customer specifications and blueprint drawings. Tools to be used include (but not limited to):
- Micrometers Depth Mics Calipers Bore Gages and Ring Gages
- Operate hand and power tools such as saws drills and grinders.
- Perform bench tasks that meet customer specifications such as mismatch allowances surface finish requirements and thickness dimensions per blueprint drawings.
- Validating the health of all tools and components required to do the assigned task.
- Maintain company 6S standards within area (Sort Set in Order Standardize Shine Sustain Safety).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
- The ability to use basic hand tools and fabricating tools such as drills saws templates jigs and fixtures.
- The ability to use basic inspection tools such as scales micrometers calipers and feeler gauges to complete required inspection procedures.
- Have basic knowledge of CNC machines and manual mills.
- The ability to read basic

- The ability to learn and increase attention to detail.
- Be reliable and punctual.
Experience & Education:
- This position requires no previous experience but experience working with mechanical processes and methods is preferred.
- 02 years of experience.
- GED/High School diploma or equivalent.
Physical Demands & Working Condition:
- May be required to move items up to 35 pounds.
- Daily duties may require sitting standing bending squatting reaching pushing pulling operating and manipulating hand tools.
- Daily duties may require extended duration of walking.
- Exposed to a Manufacturing setting with heavy machinery and dust.
